Providing Compassionate Therapy & Collaborative Psychopharmacology

- Sessions that are educational, actionable, and leave you with a sense of hope.
- An empowering, shame-free zone to explore and restore your sense of efficacy.

I appreciate that most clients don’t come into treatment unless what they have already tried has been failing. The decision to start psychotherapy or psychiatric medications is often frightening. But please know that I consider it a privilege to be entrusted at such a significant time, and I am committed to hitting the ground running, remaining in your corner, and helping you make strides towards feeling better.
I utilize a highly interactive, structured approach where we set goals and learn skills to help you return to the place you want to be, focusing on improving and exploring alternate coping skills and communication styles. I don’t merely prescribe medications, I teach you about them, and together we decide what is best. With a highly trained psychiatry expert by your side, you, the client, will decide the best course of action.

This is not the typical psychiatry practice.
I find that medications are often overused or misused and am devoted to not utilizing medications unless there is scientific evidence that they will help. Many Psychiatrists who identify as psychopharmacologists chase the latest treatment trend or experiment with off-label uses of medications. That’s not me.
Clients often come to me because they are on too many medications and desire a simpler, healthier and more effective approach. Not uncommonly, I may tell a client that the reason they have not been seeing improvement is that the answer lies in therapy, not medications.
My approach is positive, empowering and collaborative. Treatment with me is not simply ‘you talking’. I am committed to offering psychoeducation and concrete tools and input so that you can enjoy a sense of efficacy and see results. Rest assured that most of the problems in our field are treatable, so there is ample reason to feel optimistic that help is on the way.
Scheduling is easy and done via an online calendar which reminds you of your appointments and allows you to choose a time that works for you.
